(en) Published by Editions Scopio in Author’s Book collection, this book starts a series of publications focused on Architecture Photography, promoting a global critical analysis of these two worlds, trying to establish various intersections between them and explore the uniqueness and significance of the relationships that are established between the photographer and architect, their artistic processes, their collective memories, stories and other aspects related to the work and life of both paths.
\nThe publication is a unique artefact which includes manuscripts, personal stories, drawings and other images in addition to the photographs of Luis Ferreira Alves of the architecture of Eduardo Souto de Moura.
\nAbout this collection : The Author\u00b4s Book collection is the publishing medium for photographic projects specifically designed to be developed as an artist\u2019s book and linked to Artistic and Documentary Photography on Architecture, City and Territory and the publishing medium for various artistic projects, especially creative, research and plastic expression works in the field of contemporary art, and related to the topics of Architecture, City and Territory. Our goal is to promote both notable works and new authors, showing the potential of the author\u00b4s book as a unique medium for communicating multiple perspectives and combining diverse art expressions, in order to convey, in a poetic and documental way, the multiple issues related to architecture and the spaces where people live and work. We want to publish photo projects combining documentary and artistic universe in such a way that they may create synergies and allow for an innovative reading and understanding of territory and of how people appropriate the spaces where they live and work in our contemporary world.
\nThe universe of interest of scopio editions is, generically, that of Architectue, Art and Image (AAI) and, specifically, that of Documental and Artistic Photography related with Architecture, City and Territory. SCOPIO Editions has a dynamic structure integrating periodical and non-periodical publications, with the aim of divulging the several works and authors who use or research the universe of Architecture, Art and Image, with special focus on Documentary and Artistic photography, related with Architecture, City and territory, in a critical, exploratory and innovative approach.
